Aztlan Nation era un grupo de hip-hop chicano. Fundada en el West Berkeley Flats de Bay area al Este de San Francisco en 1989 por Cricket (Esteban Zul) y Smiley (Motez Mostafa). Siguiendo el ejemplo de grupos contemporáneos de inspiración política y social como Public Enemy, X-Clan y N.W.A., el grupo asumió la misión de difundir el nacionalismo chicano y el "orgullo marrón". El objetivo del grupo era dar voz y presencia al segmento latinoamericano a menudo marginado de la sociedad estadounidense.
Kid Frost o Frost es el nombre artístico del rapero estadounidense Arturo Molina Jr. (31 de mayo de 1964). Se le considera el rapero chicano más conocido junto a Cypress Hill. Arturo Molina es un estadounidense de origen mexicano que pasó parte de su infancia en bases militares americanas en Alemania y Guam, para crecer finalmente en Los Ángeles. Se hizo llamar Kid Frost, en honor de su ídolo, Ice-T. Su mayor éxito fue La Raza, de 1990, junto al productor DJ Tony G. El texto, una mezcla de inglés y español, fue decisivo en el desarrollo del rap latino. Hispanic Causing Panic es el álbum debut del cantante de rap, Kid Frost .
